This article lists the most commonly asked questions about the Yousician Family plan.
How do I buy a Yousician Family membership?
You can buy the Family membership at our website.
If you already have an active subscription and bought it on our website, you can upgrade to the Family plan. When you upgrade, you get a prorated credit for any unused time on the old subscription. This credit is applied to the new plan when you buy the upgrade.
If you have an active subscription purchased through iTunes, you can upgrade to the Family plan on our website. When you upgrade, you get a prorated credit for any unused time on the old subscription. This credit is applied to the new plan when you buy the upgrade.
Please note that by upgrading, you start a new subscription that is managed by Yousician and not by iTunes.
Important: Yousician can not cancel your current subscription during the upgrade process, as app developers are unable to cancel iTunes subscriptions. For this reason, it is important that you cancel your iTunes subscription after completing the upgrade. Not doing so may lead to having 2 subscriptions running at the same time, for which there will be 2 payments. A refund for the old iTunes subscription can not be issued by Yousician in the future, should this happen.
If you have an active subscription purchased through Google Play, you can upgrade to the Family plan on our website. When you upgrade, you get a prorated credit for any unused time on the old subscription. This credit is applied to the new plan when you buy the upgrade.
Please note that by upgrading, you start a new subscription that is managed by Yousician and not by Google Play. Your current Google Play subscription is canceled after upgrade.

What is included in the Family plan?
Unlimited access to all 5 instruments and content for yourself and up to 3 other family members. Each family member has their own Yousician account and can track their progress individually.
Family members can save songs as favorites and create their own song collections for their accounts.
How does payment work for the Family plan?
The Family plan account manager makes the payment for each billing period. This can be either monthly or annually, depending on the subscription. The account manager can add family members to join their band, remove members and manage the subscription at any time through their account page on our website.
Who can I invite to join my Family membership?
As the Family plan's account manager, you can invite up to 3 family members that you live with to join your band. Each member needs to have their own free Yousician account. It is not possible to add a member if they have a Premium subscription on their account.
How do I invite family members?
- Log in to your Family plan account on the website.
- On My account page, scroll down to the Family members section and select the Plus button.
- Add the Yousician account email address or username of a family member you live with.
Once you add a family member, they receive an email notification that they've been added to your Family membership.
How can I join my Family membership?
After the Family plan account manager has added your account, you receive an email notification. This is sent to the email address linked to your Yousician account. Next time you open the app, you have Premium+ access.
I already have a Yousician account. What happens to my playing progress?
You can upgrade to Family plan with your existing Yousician account and keep all your progress, favorites and song collections. Your family members also keep their progress on their individual Yousician accounts that you add to your Family membership.
What devices can I use my account with?
Family members can access their accounts on any device that meets these requirements:
- macOS 10.13 or later;
- iOS 11 or later;
- Windows 8.1 or later;
- Android 4.4 or later;
Yousician may have performance issues on devices with 1GB or less of Random Access Memory (RAM).
