If Yousician is not launching, check that Yousician is compatible with your OS version. Check also that you have a working Internet connection. If you use a firewall/anti-virus software, ensure that it is not blocking Yousician access to the Internet. You can find platform specific troubleshooting tips below.
Windows 10
- Uninstall Yousician. Find information from Windows support about removing programs.
- Delete the following folders (the folder directory may vary depending on your Windows username):
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Yousician
,C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Yousician Launcher
andC:\users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Yousician
If you can't find the AppData folder, check instructions from Windows support about showing hidden files.
- Run a disk cleanup to remove temporary files. Find information from Windows support about disk cleanup.
- Reinstall the app from our website.
Windows 8.1
Yousician might not start if you are running Windows 8.1 and have not installed the latest OS updates. To fix the issue, you can install the latest updates from Windows Update. You can also try to solve the issue by installing the Microsoft C++ Redistributable package.
Note that the C++ Redistributable installer may fail on an error. In this case, try to run Yousician again - the installation might have succeeded well enough to fix the issue. However, if this still didn’t help, please install the latest updates to Windows.
Windows N/KN
Check from Windows support, that your PC has the required media features for Windows N/KN editions installed.
macOS 10.13 or later
Launcher problems on macOS are usually resolved by deleting all Yousician files from your Mac and installing the app again from our website. You can also clear the cache on macOS.
