Welcome to Yousician, the guided learning application you can use to learn to play guitar.
When you play, Yousician listens via the microphone built-in to your device, and gives you real-time feedback. All you need is a 6-string guitar and a phone, tablet, laptop/desktop that meets these requirements.
The guitar syllabus includes lessons developed by our expert team of educators. The lessons, also known as Missions, cover skills from basics to advanced techniques. As you progress, you build your skills step-by-step.
When you first start, James, your teacher, introduces you to Yousician guitar. Next the app asks about your playing experience. This allows Yousician to recommend your starting point in the syllabus. If you are a beginner, we recommend going with the Nothing yet or Some basics option. Once you tune your guitar with the in-app tuner, Yousician takes you to the first mission in the guitar syllabus.
If you are an experienced guitar player, pick either Lots of songs or Almost anything. After you tune your guitar with the in-app tuner, you get to play two short trainers; frets and rhythm. Based on how you played, Yousician recommends a path and level in the syllabus to start from. If you find it easy, you can skip ahead by playing a Skill test. You can also start from a lower level mission in the syllabus.
Watch this video for tips on choosing a guitar. You can find our instrument recommendations at the Yousician Blog.
