When your instrument has a pickup, you can connect it to an amplifier, a mobile device or a computer. If you can see a small hole where you can plug in a 1/4" instrument cable, your instrument has a pickup.
- Use a 1/4" instrument cable to plug it into an amplifier.
- Use a 1/4" to USB instrument cable to connect it to a computer.
- Use a standard 3.5mm adapter jack. This only works if your computer has a separate jack for mic and headphones (E.g. doesn't work on MacBook Air).
- Use an audio interface.
When using an audio interface, you might need to change the input device. You can change it via the Advanced audio settings in the Game tab in-app.
After your instrument is connected to your device, adjust the volume in the Mixer, for guitar, bass, or ukulele, to hear yourself play.
There are lots of audio interfaces available, and the right one for you depends on the device(s) you’re plugging into. Check out the following videos to see some options.
